What's in the pack

5 individually wrapped XL wraps (about 20 × 9 cm), a how-to card, and the heat guarantee. Ingredients: iron powder, activated carbon, vermiculite, salt, water, sodium polyacrylate.

How to use

Open the pouch, peel the liner, stick it to the inside of your top or the back of your underwear, across the lower back. Warms in 20 to 30 minutes. Remove after 8 hours. Never on bare skin, never while sleeping, not under a tight waistband.

Is it hot enough? Other patches felt like nothing.

The most common complaint about heat patches is that they never get warm or fade in an hour. We picked our patch by taping a thermometer to it for eight hours and choosing the one that held its warmth longest without running hot. If yours doesn't warm, we replace the box.

Can it burn me?

Worn as directed, on the outside of underwear, the fabric layer keeps it in the comfortable range. Never on bare skin, never while sleeping, not under a tight waistband, off after 8 hours. Full warnings are on the box.

Will it fall off?

The adhesive is made for fabric, not skin. Press it on for a few seconds, then get dressed. It stays put through a commute, a class and a walk. Not waterproof.

Does heat even work for me?

Not for everyone. Roughly one in six people say heat does little for their cramps. If that's you, a patch won't change it. If pain is stopping your life, please see a doctor.

How many do I use per cycle?

One a day on the worst days. A box of 10 covers about two cycles; 20 covers a quarter with spare.
